Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from Pakistani students preparing to study in Europe, and about working with Zee Consultants.

How much money do I need to show for an Italian student visa?+

For the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years, the required amount is €10,179.85. This is set by the Ministry of University and Research and applies for the full academic year, not per month. It replaced the older figure of €6,947.33, so if you were told a lower number before, that information is outdated. This money does not need to be spent. It needs to be shown as available, either in your own account or your sponsor’s account, at the time of your visa application.

How many students has Zee Consultants helped so far?+

We have guided over 560 students to European universities, mainly for admissions and visas to Italy and Germany. Each case is handled individually, so the support you get is based on your own academic background and goals, not a one size fits all process.

Can I use both my father’s salary account and his savings account as financial proof?+

Yes, and in most cases it is a good idea to use both. The salary account shows a steady, ongoing income, while the savings account shows accumulated funds. Together they give the consular officer a fuller picture of your sponsor’s financial situation, rather than relying on just one account to prove everything.

Do you help with PhD or Post-Doctoral applications, or only regular admissions?+

Yes, we also support PhD and Post-Doctoral placement, not just standard bachelor’s or master’s admissions. We offer different service tiers depending on how much support you need, from help with just the admission process to full start to finish guidance covering both admission and visa steps.

Do I need a Declaration of Value (DOV) for my documents?+

Not always. The DOV used to be a standard requirement, but if your academic certificates qualify for CIMEA recognition, the CIMEA certificate takes its place. In that case, you do not need to also get a separate DOV. Whether you need one or the other depends on your specific documents, so it is worth checking case by case.

I only have around 6,000 euros saved. Am I still eligible to apply?+

With the current threshold at €10,179.85, you would be short of the required amount on your own. That does not mean you cannot apply. You still have time to build up additional savings before your application, or your sponsor’s income and accounts can be added to cover the difference. Another option is looking into a scholarship that can help close the gap.

Do you only work with Italy and Germany, or can you help with other countries too?+

Italy and Germany are our main areas of focus, and most of our experience and case knowledge is built around these two countries. If your interest is elsewhere in Europe, it is best to reach out directly so we can tell you honestly whether we can support your specific case.

My sponsor transferred a large amount into my account recently. Will that be a problem?+

It can be, if the deposit looks sudden and unexplained. Consular officers look closely at how the money built up over time, not just the final balance. A large lump sum added right before your application often raises questions about where it came from. It is safer to build the funds gradually over several months so your bank statement shows a steady, believable pattern rather than one big jump.

What documents prove my sponsor’s income?+

If your sponsor is employed, you will need a job letter along with their last six salary slips. If your sponsor is self-employed or runs a business, you will need business letterhead documents and a copy of their chamber of commerce registration instead. In both cases, their tax returns for the last three years are also required to show a consistent, legal source of income.

How much do your services cost, and how do I find out my exact fee?+

Our service pricing depends on which package fits your case, since a straightforward admission is different from a full admission plus visa process, or a PhD placement. Pricing is quoted in euros with the rupee equivalent shown alongside it. The best way to get an exact figure for your situation is to message us directly so we can confirm what you actually need first.

How do I book my visa appointment in Islamabad?+

You actually do not book it yourself. The Italian Embassy sends out appointment slots through BLS-Intiana, and they are given out in the order that your Universitaly pre-enrollment was validated. So the sooner your university validates your application on Universitaly, the sooner you are likely to receive your appointment slot.

Can a scholarship count toward the financial requirement?+

Yes, but only once it has actually been awarded to you. A scholarship you have simply applied for, or one that is still under review, does not count yet. Once you receive an official award letter confirming the scholarship, that amount can be used as part of your financial proof.

What if my family’s savings are spread across multiple accounts?+

That is fine and quite common. What matters most is that every account you plan to use is properly documented, meaning you can show statements and proof that the money in each one is legitimate and traceable back to your sponsor. Scattered accounts are not a problem as long as each one is backed up with clear paperwork.

Is there a minimum insurance amount I need?+

Yes. Your health insurance must cover at least €30,000, and it needs to be valid in Italy without limitations on emergency hospitalization. This is a strict requirement, so it is worth double checking your policy actually meets this coverage amount before you submit it with your application.

Can I apply for a scholarship and a visa at the same time?+

Yes, and it is actually a good idea to work on both together rather than waiting for one to finish before starting the other. We help students apply for scholarships such as DSU or EDISU, Erasmus Mundus, and DAAD alongside their visa preparation, so neither process ends up delaying the other.

My admission is confirmed, but I have not booked accommodation yet. Is that a problem?+

It can slow you down. A confirmed accommodation booking is one of the documents expected in a complete visa file, so it is better to arrange and confirm this before your visa appointment rather than leaving it for after. Having it ready in advance also makes your overall application look more organized and prepared to the consular officer.

What happens if my documents are not apostilled or translated?+

This is one of the most common reasons applications get delayed. Documents like your degree and transcripts usually need both an apostille and a certified Italian translation, and both also need their own apostille in many cases. Skipping or rushing this step often means your file gets sent back or held up, so it is worth starting this process early.

How far in advance should I start preparing my financial documents?+

Earlier than most students expect. Since consular officers are looking for a stable financial history rather than just a final number on your bank statement, it is best to start organizing your funds several months before your application, not just weeks before. This gives your account time to show a steady, believable pattern of savings.

What happens after I contact you?+

Once you message us on WhatsApp or by email, our team reviews your academic background, your financial situation, and your target university or program. From there, we map out the specific steps you need to take for your visa and admissions process, based on your actual profile rather than a generic checklist.
